My name is MacKie (she/they), and I am a multidisciplinary artist with a focus in video/projection design for live performance. My work is now based in Tkaronto/Toronto, but I began my career in K'jipuktuk/Halifax, NS, where I completed technical theatre and stage design studies at the Fountain School of Performing Arts. 

 

I believe there is a magic to visual media in helping us express thoughtful and intimate stories - especially when the creation process is supported by mindfulness and compassion.

For the past 5 years, I have grown my creative interest in mixed-media/collage design, cohesive aesthetics, and video design as more than just a place-making tool. Whether it’s opera, dance, music, or theatre, my creative process thrives on early and intimate collaboration with directors and designers. I then take delight in “building from scratch”, using my skills in video/photo manipulation, hand-drawn animation and illustration, and growing skills in 3D animation. 

Outside of video design, I have experience in film sound, lighting, scenic painting, and I find so much joy in my own creative pursuits in digital/fine art, crafting, and music-making.
